RRB NTPC Exam is conducted by Railway Recruitment Board to select candidates for the posts of Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC). It is done for the Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railways for recruitment into various posts. The full form of NTPC is the Non-Technical Popular Categories. For recruitment into these posts, RRB chooses and suggests candidates through a four-stage process. The stages are CBT 1, CBT 2, Skill Test, and Document Verification and Medical Test.

RRB NTPC Recruitment Vacancy

A total number of 35,208 vacancies were released for recruitment for 2021. Below are the category-wise vacancy details. As per the latest notice of RRB released on 12th January 2022, Board has revised the vacancy to 35,281 for the posts of NTPC. Check the posts in detail here.

RRB NTPC Recruitment Selection Process 

To get selected for a post, you are required to clear all three stages of the RRB NTPC Selection Process. These 4 stages are

• First Stage of CBT
• Second Stage of CBT
• Typing Test (Skill Test) / Aptitude Test
• Document Verification and Medical Examination

However, the fourth stage is distributed among the various levels as follows-

How to Apply for the RRB NTPC Exam?

To apply for the RRB NTPC Exam, follow the steps stated here. 

Step 1: Go to the official website of the Railway Recruitment Board.

Step 2: Click on the link to apply online for RRB NTPC Recruitment.

Step 3: Click on the Register Here menu

Step 4: Provide your Phone number and date of birth to register.

Step 5: You are registered. Log in again by using the Roll no/Registration ID and Password to fill the form.

Step 6: Enter your details such as personal information, educational qualifications, and other information. Attach a photo and signature of yourself.

Step 7: Pay the application fees and Click on Submit the Application.

Step 8: Take a printout of the fee receipt and the RRB NTPC application form.

1	For GEN/OBC	Rs. 500/-  Out of this fee of Rs 500 an amount of Rs 400 shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges, on appearing in 1st Stage CBT.
2	For SC/ST/PWD/Women/Ex-Sm/Transgender/Minorities/Economically Backward	Rs. 250/-  This fee of Rs 250 shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges as applicable on appearing in stage 1 of CBT.

RRB NTPC Exam Eligibility 

The following are the eligibility requirements as per the RRB NTPC notification 2021. The candidate must possess the prescribed qualification, and age as of the date mentioned in the notification.

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern 

The candidates can refer to the RRB NTPC exam pattern to know details of the exam such as the number of questions, weightage for each section, and know any negative marking if applicable. Below is the detailed exam pattern for the RRB NTPC examination.

• Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: UR-40%, EWS 40%, OBC (Non-creamy layer) -30%, SC-30%, ST-25%. 
• The exam duration is 90 Minutes.
• There will be a negative marking of 1/3 mark for each wrong answer.

 RRB NTPC CBT 2 Exam Pattern (Computer Based Examination):

• The exam duration is 90 Minutes.
• A negative marking of 1/3 is there.

Tier-III (Computer Based Aptitude Test):

• The candidates need to secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify.
• The questions and answer options will only be in English and Hindi.
• There is no negative marking in CBAT.

Tier-IV (Typing Skill Test)

• Type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Personal Computer.

Tier-V (Document Verification):

• Your original documents will be verified
• A medical test will also be conducted.
