CUET PG Admissions | Get All The Major Details
The UGC has approved the expansion of the CUET to allow applicants to enrol in postgraduate courses. According to UGC Chairman M. Jagdeesh Kumar, implementation of the CUET PG Admission would begin in the academic year 2023.
The CUET has not yet released the official dates for the Postgraduate courses. The UGC will issue a formal announcement on its website.
The admission processes will be released by UGC after the dates have been decided. Varied institutions around the country have different admission methods for undergraduate courses. CUET will be conducted for PG Courses at all universities, whether public or private, in the same way as it is for UG Courses.
The UGC has also decided that the CUET would be held twice a year starting next year in order for applicants to get good results.
Despite the fact that over 1 lakh applications were filed in a week for CUET to secure admission in the undergraduate programme from students in Northern India, Southern India has been opposing the centralised examination system.
In a letter to India’s Prime Minister, ML Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, stated that students who studied from state boards would find it difficult to participate in the centralised examination, which is based on NCERT. He went on to say that it would be a disadvantage for all of the deserving candidates applying to the central universities. Stalin went on to say that admission exams like NEET and CUET will make distinctions against poor kids from rural regions and that this will only help the coaching centres develop and make more money.
How To Get Admission To UG Courses Based On CUET Scores?
The candidate’s participation in CUET (UG) – 2022 does not guarantee entrance to the candidate’s preferred university. A candidate’s selection and admission are contingent on meeting the University’s admission standards, including eligibility, merit list rank, medical fitness, original document verification, and any other criteria. Following the release of the CUET (UG) – 2022 result, candidates are advised to consult the applicant university’s website for any admission-related procedures/questions. The NTA plays no part in the Merit List selection process.
