PMSS Scholarship 2022: New Application Form, Renewal, Eligibility, Last Date and More
Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) was first launched in 2006 to encourage students to pursue their higher education and professional education. This scholarship is primarily for the dependent wards of ex-servicemen and ex-coast guard personnel and their widows. There has been a huge plunge in the rate of dropouts since this initiative. The PMSS Scholarship 2022 applications are already being started. Students are requested to check their eligibility and take advantage of the PM Scholarship Scheme that our government has to offer.
- Under this PM Scholarship Scheme, around 5500 wards and widows are selected every year. The scholarship is divided equally among the boys and girls i.e. 2750 each.
- Every month, qualified girls and boys will receive Rs. 3000 and Rs. 2500 per month respectively.
- Scholarships are awarded for one to five years, depending on the length of the courses approved by the relevant regulatory bodies.

What is PM Scholarship Scheme?
As there have already been various schemes launched by our government to meet the needs of all sections, particularly the weaker sections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the PM Scholarship Scheme in 2006 to assist dependent wards and widows of ex-servicemen. Previously, applications for the PMSS Scholarship 2022 were only accepted offline, but this has changed since 2016. Now, the application process is entirely online.
- Furthermore, the amount that students would have received previously has been increased to 3000 for girls and 2500 for boys.
- Every year, the notification for the start date of application is released in August, and students can apply for the PMSS scholarship 2022 from August 15th to November 15th, 2022.

PM Scholarship Amount 2022
Under the PM Scholarship Scheme, qualified candidates will receive the following amount:

PM Scholarship Amount Acknowledgement
After receiving the amount, candidates are required to update their status on column 14 of the renewal application. In the event that you don’t update the status, your scholarship will be cancelled and the amount already distributed will be revoked. For the same, you need to follow the following steps:
Step 1: Go to the PMSS Renewal Application Link
Step 2: Enter your credentials like username and password
Step 3: Enter the verification code and click on “Login.”
Step 4: After that, update the DATE OF PAYMENT AND AMOUNT RECEIVED in two separate columns in column 14.
Step 5: Finally, hit the “Save” button to update your information.
Note: After receiving the scholarship amount, you should immediately update column 14 of your PMSS Scholarship Application.

How to apply online for PMSS Scholarship 2022 (New Registration)?
Previously, applications for the PM Scholarship Scheme were accepted only offline. However, the entire procedure has now been moved online, making it much easier and faster to submit your application. If you are a first-time applicant, you can apply online for the PMSS Scholarship 2022 by following the steps outlined below:
- Visit KSB Website www.ksb.gov.in
- Click on the PMSS link and then on List of documents to be uploaded. And download Annexures 1, 2, and 3.
- Fill out all of the annexures, scan them, and save them somewhere on your computer or Pendrive.
- Go to the Apply Online PMSS Scholarship Link now.
- Upload your passport-sized photo, fill out Parts 1 and 2 with ESM information, and submit.
- Following registration, a login ID, password, and a link with an activation link will be sent to the registered email address.
- Click the activation link and sign in with your credentials.
- Now, select the Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme under “New Application.”
- Fill out Parts 1–3 and scan and upload all required original documents.
- Finally to finish your application, save and forward it.
Note: Please keep in mind that if you save but do not forward, the application will remain pending in your dashboard and will not be considered.
PM Scholarship Scheme Required Documents
These are the following documents that candidates are required to scan and upload the original copy while completing their PMSS Scholarship 2022 application:

- Birth date proof like matriculation certificate
- 10+2 Mark sheet, mark sheet of graduation/Diploma as applicable,
- Pass Book first page or cancelled cheque
- PPO copy for Category 6 or the following supporting documents for Categories 1–5:

How to apply for Online PMSS Scholarship 2022 Renewal?
Students who have already been selected for PMSS and are currently in their second or subsequent year do not need to apply for a New Application. Such students must only apply for Renewal Application at the end of each academic year until the course is completed. The following are some things that students should remember:
- Each semester / academic year, a minimum of 50% is required.
- Passing all subjects in each semester/year on the first attempt is mandatory.
- Renewal applications are processed as they come in throughout the year, except from January to May.
- The student may apply for scholarship renewal within one year of the announcement of the results.

Step 3: Enter the verification code and click on “Login.”
Step 4: After that, update and upload all the necessary documents.
Step 5: Finally, hit the “Save” button to update your information.
Note: If a student fails or receives a RA in any subject, his or her scholarship will be terminated. He will not be eligible for future PMSS payments.
Documents Required for Renewal Applications
These are the following documents that candidates are required to scan and upload the original copy while completing their Renewal PMSS Scholarship 2022 application:
- Annexure-1
- Annexure-2
- Annexure-3
- Original university mark sheets (both semesters / academic year). Computer-generated mark sheets are not permitted to be uploaded.
- Annexure-4 (Not applicable to all Students).
- Student’s first page of a bank pass book or a cancelled cheque leaf
- Adhaar card

To Check your PM Scholarship applications status simply follow the following steps:
Step 1: Visit the Status of Application from the official KSB website.
Step 2: After that fill in your DAK ID and verification code.
Step 3: Finally, hit “search” and you will get your application status.
PMSS Scholarship 2022 Eligibility
There are some students who are eligible to receive the PMSS Scholarship 2022 and others who are not. The same is true for the courses for which they are receiving scholarships. As a result, students should thoroughly examine their eligibility to determine who is and is not eligible for the scholarship.
Who is Eligible for the PM Scholarship Scheme?
This PMSS Scholarship Scheme is primarily for the wards of ex-servicemen. To get more clarity on the same, check out the eligible candidates and courses mentioned below:
- Dependent Wards / Widows of Ex-Servicemen & Ex-Coast Guard personnel.
- Only students who have started their first year are eligible to apply for PMSS scholarship 2022.
- Students must have received a minimum of 60% in their 12th, diploma and graduation.
- Integrated courses, with academic and professional course portions.
- BE, B Tech, BDS, MBBS, B Ed, BBA, BCA, B Pharma, and other first professional degree courses duly recognised by respective government regulatory bodies.
- PM Scholarship Scheme is only available for one course.
Who is not Eligible for the PM Scholarship Scheme?
Certain courses and wards are not allowed to avail PMSS scholarship 2022:
- Wards of Civilians and Paramilitary Personnel are not eligible for the PM Scholarship Scheme.
- Students in their second or subsequent years are not eligible (except integrated courses).
- Master Degree Courses are not eligible for PMSS Scholarship 2022 (except for MBA/MCA courses)
- This PM Scholarship scheme is not available to students studying abroad.
- PMSS Scholarship Scheme does not permit distance learning courses.

To be eligible for the PM Scholarship Scheme, an applicant must have received at least 60% in MEQ, i.e. 10+2 / Diploma / Graduation. In addition, the article above contains detailed eligibility criteria.
The monthly PMSS Scholarship amount is Rs. 2,500/- for boys and Rs. 3,000/- for girls.

To be considered eligible for the PM Scholarship Scheme, the family income from all sources should not exceed Rs. 8.0 Lakh per year for the fiscal year 2021-22.
