Every year, the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB SI) holds a state-level recruitment exam for sub-inspectors. The test is held in order to select new officers for the Tamil Nadu Police Force.

TNUSRB SI 2022 Vacancy Details

The vacancies of 2022 have been disclosed by the authorities. The recruitment drive is being conducted to fill up a total of 444 vacancies, of which 399 vacancies are for the post of Sub-Inspectors of Police (Taluk) and 45 for Sub-Inspectors of Police (AR) posts. Out of the total vacancies for Taluk and AR, 30% will be allotted for Women / Transgender candidates. Women / Transgender candidates shall also be entitled to compete in the remaining 70% of vacancies along with men candidates in the Taluk and AR vacancies. TNUSRB SI Eligibility Criteria 2022

For each type of student, the qualifying conditions for the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board Exam for Sub-Inspector Post differ. The following are the TNUSRB SI  qualifying conditions in detail:

TNUSRB SI  Eligibility: Nationality

  • The candidate must be an Indian national and a Tamil Nadu resident alone.
  • Any applicant who currently resides in another state is ineligible to take the TNUSRB SI Exam.

TNUSRB SI Eligibility: Educational Qualification

1.The applicant must hold a Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree from any University recognised by UGC / Government on the date of Notification.

2.The Bachelor’s Degree should have been obtained in the following pattern:-

  • After completion of SSLC and Higher Secondary course in the order of 10+2+3 pattern or
  • After completion of SSLC and Diploma in the order of 10+3+2 / 10+3+3 pattern or
  • After completing SSLC and I.T.I in the 10+2+3 pattern, from an Open University/Distance Education/College

Candidates who earned Bachelor’s degrees through Open Universities but did not follow the above-mentioned pattern will not be considered.

TNUSRB SI Age Limit (as on 1st July 2022)

  • To take the TNUSRB SI Exam 2022, you must be at least 20 years old. And applicants must be at least 30 years old to sit for this test.
  • Candidates who have completed five years of employment in the police department and are under the age of 477 can take this test. This concession is only for students who are participating as part of a departmental quota system.
  • Up to the age of 477, candidates who are ex-personnel / ex-servicemen of the Central Paramilitary Forces can take the TNUSRB  SI Exam.
  • As seen in the table below, the Tamil Nadu State Government has granted age relaxation to SC/ST, Minorities, and OBCs.

TNUSRB SI Recruitment 2022 Exam Pattern

The old question papers and a few more methods can be used to determine the TNUSRB SI Recruitment Exam Pattern. Before taking any exam, candidates should always be aware of the exam pattern. The written examination paper for open quota candidates and departmental quota candidates vary slightly.

Open Quota Candidates

 Part A: The first section of the paper is based on the candidates’ general knowledge. Part A contains a total of 80 questions worth a total of 40 points. As a result, each question is worth half a point.

Part B: The second section contains a more extensive syllabus, with a total of 60 questions worth half a mark each. As a result, Part B is worth 30 points. All of the questions in both sections are objective in nature.

  • The paper will take a total of 2:30 hours to complete. To advance to the next round of the selection process, candidates must score at least 25 points.
  • There are objective questions in both parts.
  • Each accurate answer will receive a 12 point.
  • The exam is worth 70 points in total.
  • To pass the written test, students must receive a minimum of 25 points (35 percent).

Departmental Quota Candidates

Part A: The first part of the paper is based on the candidates’ general knowledge. Part A contains a total of 30 questions worth a total of 15 points. As a result, each question is worth half a point.

Part B: The second section contains a more extensive syllabus, with a total of 140 questions worth half a mark each. As a result, Part B is worth 70 points. In both parts, all of the questions are objective in nature.

  • The paper is three hours long in total. To advance to the next round of the selection process, candidates must score at least 30 points.
  • There are objective questions in both parts.

  • To pass the written test, students must obtain a minimum of 30 points (35 percent).

TNUSRB SI  Selection Process 2022

To be considered for the Tamil Nadu Sub Inspector Post 2022, the applicant must pass three phases. Written Test, PMT/PET/EU Tests, and Interview Round are the three steps. A detailed description of these stages is given below.

Stage-I: TNUSRB SI  Written Test

Part A and Part B will make up the TNUSRB SI  Written Test 2022. Furthermore, Part A will feature 30 questions, while Part B will have 140. Stage-III: TNUSRB SI Interview Round
