Eligibility for Self-employment schemes in India

  • The proportion of women receiving benefits under the SEP must be at least 30%.Benefits for SCs and STs must at least equal the percentage of their population strength in the city/poor town. People with disabilities will receive a special 3% registration rate, and communities of colour will receive at least 14-15%.

Aatmanirbhar Bharat Rojgar yojna

Depending on the number of employees at the EPFO-registered establishments, the Government of India will either cover the entire employees’ share (12 percent of wages) or the entire employer share (12 percent of wages) of the contribution that is due under ABRY. The program began on October 1, 2020, and registration for qualified employers and new hires will be accepted up until June 30, 2021. From the date of registration for two years, the government would pay the subsidy.

Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Yojna- (PMRY)

Since October 2, 1993, the Pradhan Mantri Rozgar Yojna (PMRY) has been helping educated unemployed youth from economically disadvantaged groups find self-employment. The program’s goal is to help eligible young people launch their own businesses in the industry, service, and retail sectors. The programme aims to include both urban and rural areas.

Self-employment program for Urban poor scheme

The National Urban Lively hood Mission’s program is called the Self-Employment Program for Urban Poor Scheme (NULM). With the help of this program, urban poor people can get financial assistance. Any group or person with a minimum of three members is eligible to apply for such a scheme, and there is no educational requirement. The sanctioned loan balance for groups is up to Rs. 10 lakh and for individuals, it is Rs. 2 lakh. The repayment period for this scheme is between 5 and 7 years, with a 7 percent interest rate.
