What are the NIRF Rankings?
The NIRF ranking methodology is used to rank Indian institutes of higher learning. The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) first approved it in 2015. Following that, the education minister releases a NIRF ranking list in roughly nine categories each year, which are as follows:
Overall Ranking, University Ranking, Engineering Ranking, College Ranking, Management Ranking, Pharmacy Ranking, Law Ranking, Architecture Ranking, and Medical Ranking.
What are the Parameters of the NIRF Ranking?
According to the official information, NIRF ranking is done using five different parameters. All parameters are weighted according to the college. Finally, the sum of the marks in each criterion is used to determine the NIRF ranking.

NIRF Ranking Eligibility Criteria for Institutions
The NIRF ranking parameters have already been mentioned. Along with that, consider what qualifies a university to be considered for NIRF rankings:
- One of the following procedures must be followed by the institution:
- At least 1000 students have been enrolled.
- Alternatively, a centrally funded institution or university of Government of India
- Only discipline-specific rankings will be given to institutions with less than 1000 students enrolled that are highly focused (single main-domain).
- For domain-specific ranking, institutions will need to register separately.
- Only institutions that have successfully graduated three consecutive graduate batches will be considered for the ranking.
- Affiliating Universities and Open Universities will not be ranked.

NIRF ranking parameters 2022
On July 15, 2022, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will release the NIRF Rankings 2022.
The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is a methodology approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) to evaluate the performance of various engineering, MBA, and law institutes in India.
IIT Madras ranked first in the 2021 NIRF ranking, and we will find out which college ranks first in the 2022 NIRF ranking on July 15, 2022.
