The Government of Kerala has recently initiated the Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE). The KASE initiative is skilling the younger workforce of the state. Along with that raising their abilities for employment in India and abroad. This is a non-profit organization as the nodal organization for facilitating and coordinating diverse talent improvement tasks of the state. It is integrated to pursue its most important targets. These targets include promoting, establishing, setting up, monitor, governing, and modifying establishments. The motive of this initiative is the improvement of middle employability competencies. Also, for selling generation that meets the needs of industries globally. 

Considering the odd demographic traits of the Kerala state, specific skilling models were accepted by the KASE. The acceptance of the models is with enterprise tie‐ups and placement linkages. Various other such ability improvement programs initiated via KASE are under implementation. These programs stand proud of the ability improvement projects in different states in India. These programs stick out from the talent improvement tasks in other states in India. KASE is designed as the State Skill Development Mission is in step with the G.O.(Rt) No.1501/16/LBR dated 02.12.2016 to feature because of the nodal frame for the convergence of all ability projects of the state.

Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence Initiative

KASE, the State Skill Development Mission of the Government of Kerala, is under the Department of Labour and Skills. This initiative is implementing diverse talent improvement projects in Kerala. The purpose is to assist an industry-geared-up workforce. The key KASE Initiatives are provided in the below points:

KASE Centre of Excellence:

• To ensure the highest training quality KASE did a partnership with ODEPC. It has established the Multi-Language Learning Institute for conducting OET/IELTS courses. 
• KASE has partnered with the New Renewable Energy Research and Technology Agency (ANERT). The aim is to establish the Renewable Energy Competence Center in the state.
• KASE has also set up a specialized English test center for medical professionals with the support of ODEPC.
• The Center of Excellence in nursing offers world-class training to improve the employability of nurses. Nursing Institute for Career Enhancement operates a nursing improvement program. The program is tailor-made for certified graduates or freshers. Also for diploma nurses with a minimum of 2 years of clinical bedside experience.
• The global oil and gas industry is in the midst of a talent crisis and needs to find alternatives to fill the skills gap. The COE (Center of Excellence) for Oils, Gases, and Rigs offers an industry awareness program.

Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence Accredited Courses

The KASE provides accredited courses in the Sports Management and Research Institute. SMRI (Sports Management and Research Institute) is a leading research and training institution. The institution is for sports management and sports engineering in India. KASE works with SMRI to run different training programs. These programs include Sports Management PG Diploma, and Sports Business Advanced Diploma. Along with that Certified Sports Manager, and Sports Engineering Advanced Diploma. Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence Employment Enhancement Program

Kaushal Kendras

Kaushal Kendras focuses on rural youth with a world-class training facility. This facility is for language labs, digital libraries, evaluation, and counseling centers. Also a multi-skills center with video conference facilities for skill training in various areas. It will be established as a community skill park. Language Labs teach functional English at various levels, from students to workers.

Employability Centre

The Ministry of Labor and Skills of the Government of Kerala has taken a revolutionary step by turning an employment office into an employment center. Traditionally, employment offices provide registration and placement services. There are no provisions for assessing a candidate’s skills and providing appropriate training.

Career Development Centres

KASE, the Government of Kerala’s National Skills Development Mission, has worked with the Government of Kerala’s National Employment Services Department to establish the Career Development Center (CDC). Along with that it also focuses to establish Mini Employability Center (MEC), which acts as a gathering place for individuals. KASE Indian Institute of Infrastructure and Construction

Indian Institute of Infrastructure and Construction (IIIC) provides high-end courses in civil engineering and management. It provides skill training to workers from industries such as bricklayers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, draftsmen with CAD expertise, supervisors, and construction managers. Applicants who have completed admission can apply for a masonry degree, and engineering graduates/ITI certificate holders/diploma holders can apply for a variety of other degrees. Kerala State Institute of Design (KSID)

The Kerala State Design Institute (KSID) was founded with the primary purpose of building a vibrant design community in Kerala through synergistic partnerships between craftsmen, professional designers and the general public. The institute was integrated with the Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE) on April 1, 2014. One of KSID’s most important goals is to promote design education in the state. The National Institute of Design Ahmedabad (NID) supports KSID in this effort by providing a comprehensive roadmap to support organizational development and strengthening, curriculum and course offerings, and teacher development.
