DIPR and NFDC Signed an MOU for J&K’s First National Film Festival

  • The Department of Information and Public Relations of J&K signed a Memorandum of Understanding
  • It was signed with the National Film Development Corporation Limited
  • The director of DIPR, J&K, Sh Akshay Labroo, and the General Manager of NFDC, Sh D.Ramakrishnan were the ones to sign the memorandum
  • Another important official present at that meeting was Sh Nitishwar Kumar, the principal secretary to the Lt. Governor
  • The festival is scheduled to take place from 15th June to 20th June
  • The CEO of Mission Youth, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, and Deputy Director of Film Festivals, Ms. Tanu Rai will be attending the J&K film festival

BCCI to Partner with Fancraze, an NFT Corporation

  • The Board of Control for Cricket in India has signed Fancraze as its sponsor for the Women’s T20 Challenge
  • Fancraze is an NFT corporation. It is an International Cricket Council partner. This will be the first time that the Indian Cricket Board will be associating with the Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT)
  • NFTs are cryptographic assets based on blockchain technology. These are used for artwork and real estate businesses

India Becomes One of the Nations to Launch the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF)

  • 13 countries, including India, launch the Indo-Pacific Economic plan 
  • The other countries are Australia, Brunei, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam
  • To counter China’s expansion is the main aim of the US-led IPEF initiative
  • The plan of action includes collaboration with other countries under the IPEF and boosting trade and investment

Sambhav- An Online Energy-Related Grievance Portal 

  • In the state of Uttar Pradesh, Arvind Sharma, the Minister for Energy and Urban Development, launched a portal called Sambhav
  • Sambhav stands for Systemic Administration Mechanism for Bringing Happiness and Value. It is an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) portal where the UP residents can post their grievances related to energy in the state
  • The officers of the Energy Department will be receiving these grievances and submitting their responses as well as Action Taken Report (ATR) on the portal
  • Pending grievances under the CM’s Jan Sunwai/Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) will also be taken by the Sambhav portal

Belgium Imposes a 21-Day Quarantine for Monkeypox; Becomes the First Country to do so

  • Four cases of the Monkeypox virus were reported in Belgium after which the country imposed a 21-day compulsory quarantine for the patients
  • According to the World Health Organization, there are 92 monkeypox cases in 12 countries 
  • The countries to report monkeypox cases are the UK, Portugal, Sweden, Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, the US, Canada, and Australia
  • Symptoms like bumpy rash, sore muscles, fever, and headache appear in the disease
  • The disease was endemic to Africa, hence its spread in other countries is unusual and concerning
