AFCAT Exam Date 2022- Notification, Exam Schedule, and Eligibility

AFCAT Exam Date 2022 Out: Registration for the AFCAT exam will begin on the 1st of June 2022. The Indian Air Forces invited applications from eligible candidates up to the 30th of June 2022. AFCAT stands for the Air Force Common Admission Test. The IAF conducts this exam twice a year. Deserving candidates get recruitment into the Flying Branch, Ground Duty (technical) branch, and the Ground Duty (non-technical) branch.

• Candidates who qualify the AFCAT exam are called for the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) testing
• For candidates who wish to get the technical posts, there is an Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) conducted
• The AFCAT exam will consist of two papers- AFCAT and EKT. AFCAT will carry 300 marks while the EKT exam will carry 150 marks
• Selected candidates get paid the CPC in the range of Rs. 56,000 to Rs. 1,10,700/-

AFCAT 2022 Vacancy 

The vacancies for the three branches will be released by IAF on the 1st of June 2022. These vacancies will be tentative and shall change without any notice. For the NCC Special entry, 10% of the CDSE vacancies will be reserved for PC and 10% of the AFCAT vacancies will be reserved for SSC candidates.

How to Apply for AFCAT Exam 2022?

From the 1st of June 2022, candidates will be able to apply for the AFCAT exam. The registration will take place on the official website of AFCAT CASB. You will need scanned copies of your photo, signature, and thumb impression while filling out the forms. Check the steps given below to submit your application.

Step 1: Visit the official website of AFCAT CASB.

Step 2: Click on “Apply Online”

Step 3: Now, look for the link for new registration. Enter the required details to register yourself.

Step 4: Log in with your credentials. Choose your desired post and enter your information.

Step 5: Upload the necessary documents.

Step 6: Select the exam city of your choice and make the fee payment.

Step 7: Submit the application.

AFCAT 2022 Application Fee 

The final step in the submission of the AFCAT application will be payment of the application fee. This has to be done in online mode only. CAsh or demand draft payment will not be accepted. Make sure you print out the payment receipt for use in the future. Refer to the table below for details.

AFCAT Selection Process

The selection process for AFCAT will include different stages. They will be as follows.

• AFCAT Exam- It will be the first stage. There shall be two papers in it- AFCAT and EKT.
• Air Force Selection Board Exam (SSB)- The SSB exam will include a series of tests like Picture perception, Psychological test, etc.
• Physical and Medical Test- This will be the last stage. Shortlisted candidates will be tested for their physical features as well as medical fitness.

AFCAT Eligibility Criteria

All the aspirants must make sure that they satisfy the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria for age, educational qualification, nationality, and marital status is as follows.

Age Limit

The minimum and maximum age limits are different for the flying branch and Ground Duty posts. The details are given below.

Educational Qualification

Minimum educational requirements must be fulfilled in order to get the candidature. This ensures that the candidate applying has the basic knowledge. The details are as given below.

Flying branch	50% marks in Maths and Physics at 10+2, and Minimum three years degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent from a recognized University, or A minimum of four years degree of BE/B.Tech with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized University, or A minimum of 60% marks in Section A and B exam of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University
Ground Duty (technical)	A minimum of 50% mark in Maths and Physics at 10+2, and Minimum four years of graduation/integrated post-graduation in Engineering/Technology from a recognized University, or A minimum of 60% marks in Section A and B exam of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership exam of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers
Ground Duty (non-technical)	Passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with 50% marks in any discipline including integrated courses offering PG (Single degree without permission to exit and lateral entry) and with 60% marks in Graduation in any disciple
Meteorology	12th pass and Post Graduate Degree in any Science stream/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Geography/ Computer Applications/ Environmental Science/ Applied Physics/ Oceanography/ Meteorology/ Agricultural Meteorology/ Ecology & Environment/ Geo-physics/ Environmental Biology with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together (Provided Maths and Physics were studied at Graduation Level with a minimum of 55% marks in each)

Nationality

Candidates should be Indian citizens in order to be eligible for the recruitment.

Marital status

The following points will be considered for eligibility regarding a candidate’s marital status.

• A candidate must be unmarried while applying for the AFCAT exam
• If a candidate is a widow or a widower they shall not be eligible for the recruitment
• A candidate who marries after applying for the application even if they clear the SSB and medical will also not be eligible for training
