SSC CGL VS SBI PO Selection Process

SSC CGL holds four levels of exam. Candidates are selected based on the overall score. It has two levels of online objective type of examination, a descriptive Hindi or English test and another skill test exam.

SBI PO is held over three phases. Applicants are selected on the overall merit score of the mains and interview round, but candidates need to qualify for each level to sit for the next round. The prelims round is objective, whereas the mains round is descriptive in nature followed by an interview process.

SBI and SSC employees have a very strong and almost at-par salary structure.

SBI PO Salary 

Here is a brief overview of SBI PO perks.

SBI PO has a basic pay of Rs 41,960/- and has four increments.

  • 1st Increment- Rs. 36000-1490/7
  • 2nd Increment-Rs. 46430-1740/2
  • 3rd Increment- Rs. 49910-1990/7
  • 4th Increment- Rs. 63840

This excludes the various types of allowances such as dearness allowance, traveling allowance, LTC, medical benefits, etc.

SSC CGL Salary 

Unlike SBI PO, candidates recruited under SSC CGL are positioned under different ranks based on their merit. Here is the structure of SSC CGL pay for different ranks.

  • The gross salary of the highest position, i.e Assistant Audit Officer is Rs. (54,864 – 61,424) 
  • The gross salary of the base positioned officer, i. Sub-inspector in Narcotics is Rs. Rs. (24,446 – 28,180)

Similar to SBI PO employees, SSC CGL employees are entitled to various allowances and perks as per the rule book, but there is slight difference between SSC CGL and SBI PO.
