Haryana will host the Khelo India Youth Games in 2022. Haryana’s chief minister has stated that the state would host the fourth season of Khelo India 2022. The Khelo India Youth Games have been postponed due to the pandemic and will now take place in June. Previously, the Khelo India Youth Games were conducted in January. The Khelo India Youth Games Mascot 2022 has also been launched recently by the Union Minister of Sports Anurag Thakur at Panchkula, Haryana.
The ceremony was also attended by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Gian Chand Gupta, and Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs Sandeep Singh.
Around 8000 athletes will compete in 25 categories, including five traditional sports: gatka, thang-ta, kalarippayattu, mallakhamb, and yogasana. The tournament will take place in five locations between June 4th and June 13th in various venues. Athletes from all throughout the country will participate in 25 different sports.
Launch of Khelo India Youth Games Mascot 2022
At Panchkula, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur unveiled the mascot ‘Dhakad,’ as well as the official emblem and jersey for the Fourth Khelo India Youth Events, praising Haryana’s efforts to host the games.
The mascots for the Khelo India Youth Games are the blackbuck ‘Jaya’ and the tiger ‘Vijay.’ ‘Dhakad’ is the name of Haryana’s mascot for the Khelo India Youth Games-21.
About Khelo India Youth Games
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the first edition of the Khelo India Youth Games on January 31, 2018. The Khelo India school games were renamed the Khelo India Youth Games in 2019. The Khelo India Youth Games were created with the purpose of inspiring and empowering youngsters to engage in various sporting competitions.

Khelo India Youth Games 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Students under the age of 17 are eligible to participate in this event, and applicants must be students. The Government would provide five lakh to the selected students for an eight-year period in order to establish their ability. The Indian Government is a major sponsor of the event and will provide all of the contestants’ necessities.

The jersey for the year 2022 and the fourth edition of the Khelo India Youth Games is in white colour.
