CTET Eligibility Criteria Paper 1

Candidate should have a Senior Secondary (or equivalent) passed with at least 50% marks and passed the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or appearing in its final year.

OR

Secondary (or equivalent) passed with at least 45% marks and passed a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or appearing in its final year.

OR

Senior Secondary (or equivalent) passed with at least 50% marks and passed a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) or appearing in its final year. The candidate should be a citizen of India.

OR 

Candidates who have done “Graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)” can also apply for teaching positions for Classes I-V (Primary Stage). For such candidates, it is mandatory to undergo a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognised by the NCTE, within two years of their appointment as a primary teacher.

Post-Graduation candidate with a minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade and three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.

CTET Eligibility Criteria Paper 2

Senior Secondary (or equivalent) passed with at least 50% marks and passed a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)/B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or appearing in its final year.

OR

Graduation and passed a 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education or appearing in its final year.

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed a 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)/B.Ed. (Special Education) or appearing in its final year.

OR

Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), or appearing in its final year, in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure).

OR

Any candidate having a qualified B.Ed Programme recognized by the NCTE is also eligible to appear in TET/CTET.

OR

Post-Graduation candidates with a minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade and three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.
