DD Free Dish Channel List: Prasar Bharati, a public service broadcaster, owns and operates the DD Free Dish DTH service. It debuted in December 2004. DD Free Dish is the only Free-to-Air (FTA) Direct-To-Home (DTH) service that does not charge viewers a monthly subscription fee. It is highly reasonable for everyone because it just takes a tiny one-time expenditure of around Rs. 2000/- for the purchase of a Set-to-Box (STB) and a small-sized Dish Antenna with accessories. DD Free Dish is the largest DTH platform because of its unique free to air approach.
DD Free Dish (formerly DD Direct Plus) is a free-to-air satellite television company in India. The state broadcaster Doordarshan owns it. It reaches approximately 40 million households, accounting for more than a quarter of all TV households in the country. DD Free Dish makes money by selling slots to private broadcasters via e-auction.
DD Free Dish currently has 116 TV channels, 94 of which are in MPEG-2 format and 22 in MPEG-4 format. PM e-Vidya programme runs instructional TV channels for grades 1 to 12.

DD Free Dish Channel List – FAQs
DD Free Dish is an approved scheme of the Government of India being implanted through Prasar Bharati. The Cabinet approval of the scheme was obtained on 19.11.2003. DD Free Dish service was formally inaugurated by the Honourable Prime Minister of India on 16.12.2004.
DD Free Dish has a varied content of Doordarshan TV channels, Private TV Channels, Educational channels and Radio channels of All India Radio. There are around 40 DD Channels, 70 Private channels and 51 Educational channels.
The service is totally free and the only expenditure involved is on a one-time purchase of Receive Equipment, which is available in the open market at a nominal cost.
A total of 13 Hindi movie channels are available.
