The SI test is administered by the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) to select Sub-inspectors for postings in the Taluk, Armed Forces, and Special Forces of Tamil Nadu. Through its official website, the TNUSRB SI test accepts applications from general quota and departmental applicants.

The Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board updates and publishes the TNUSRB SI syllabus every year. In Paper 1, both open and departmental quota candidates are assessed on the same themes.

TNUSRB SI Syllabus 2022

The TNUSRB SI exam syllabus is available on the organization’s website. According to the TNUSRB SI curriculum, the level of questions answered in the test is basic knowledge of Class 12 and advanced knowledge of degree level, according to the board’s announcement. The written test has a total score of 70 for open quota applicants and 85 for departmental quota candidates.

Syllabus for TNUSRB SI Paper I

  2. India’s history includes the Indus Valley Civilization and all key events up to the present-day governance of India.
  3. In Tamil Nadu, economics and commerce include industrial growth, agriculture, social issues and remedies, and village government.
  4. Indian Constitution, Citizenship, Legislature, Executive, Judiciary, Foreign Policy, and Local Self-Government are all covered in political science.
  5. Regions of India, Climate, Natural Disasters, Monsoon, Crops, National Parks, Major Ports, Wildlife and Forests, and Population Explosion are all covered by India’s geography.
  6. Current Events: Significant events in science and technology, sports, politics, literature of India, India and its neighbours, art literature, the culture of Tamil Nadu, National and international awards.

Syllabus for TNUSRB SI Paper II

For open candidates:

  1. Logical Analysis: The candidates need to analyse the given information using basic login to figure out different dimensions of the data given.
  2. Numerical Analysis: The candidates are tested on their quick response regarding their numerical ability.
  3. Psychology/Mental ability Test: The candidates are tested on their capability to reach a conclusion using mental reasoning ability and mental swiftness.
  4. Linguistic abilities: The candidate’s language abilities are assessed.
  5. Capacity to handle information: The candidate’s ability to deduce and link the facts in the provided data is assessed.

For departmental candidates:

  1. Candidates are tested on the provisions of the Police Standing Order and how they are applied.
  2. Candidates are examined on their understanding of administrative rules and regulations in the police administration.
  3. The candidates are tested on their basic knowledge and day-to-day use of laws, sections in the police station, and cases handled in the courts. TNUSRB SI Exam Pattern 2022

The old question papers and a few more methods can be used to determine the TNUSRB SI Recruitment Exam Pattern. Before taking any exam, candidates should always be aware of the exam pattern. The written examination paper for open quota candidates and departmental quota candidates vary slightly.

Open Quota Candidates

Part A: The first section of the paper is based on the candidates’ general knowledge. Part A contains a total of 80 questions worth a total of 40 points. As a result, each question is worth half a point.

Part B: The second section contains a more extensive syllabus, with a total of 60 questions worth half a mark each. As a result, Part B is worth 30 points. All of the questions in both sections are objective in nature.

  • The paper will take a total of 2:30 hours to complete. To advance to the next round of the selection process, candidates must score at least 25 points.
  • There are objective questions in both parts.
  • Each accurate answer will receive a 12 point.
  • The exam is worth 70 points in total.
  • To pass the written test, students must receive a minimum of 25 points (35 percent).

Departmental Quota Candidates

Part A: The first part of the paper is based on the candidates’ general knowledge. Part A contains a total of 30 questions worth a total of 15 points. As a result, each question is worth half a point.

Part B: The second section contains a more extensive syllabus, with a total of 140 questions worth half a mark each. As a result, Part B is worth 70 points. In both parts, all of the questions are objective in nature.

  • The paper is three hours long in total. To advance to the next round of the selection process, candidates must score at least 30 points.
  • There are objective questions in both parts.
  • Each accurate answer will receive a 12 point.
  • The exam is worth 85 points in total.
  • To pass the written test, students must obtain a minimum of 30 points (35 percent).

TNUSRB SI Physical Measurement Test:

Only open quota applicants are eligible to take the Physical Measurement exam. Candidates who meet the departmental quota are excluded from this step. The candidate’s height and chest measurements are taken here. This test is qualifying in nature. The following table lists the criteria for the Gender ‘Male’:

Only open quota candidates are allowed to take this test. Physical fitness tests are waived for those applicants who are taking the TNUSRB SI Exam 2022 as part of a departmental quota. Applicants for departmental quotas, on the other hand, must pass endurance tests.

TNUSRB SI Endurance Test

The Endurance Test is only open to candidates who have passed the Physical Measurement Test. This is a qualifying test as well. Candidates for both the open and departmental quotas must pass the test.

TNUSRB Physical Efficiency Test for Sub Inspectors

The Physical Efficiency Test is open to open quota candidates who have passed the Endurance Test. This is a qualifying test as well. Candidates who meet the departmental quota are not required to take the test.

TNUSRB SI Certificate Verification

  1. Candidates who passed the open quota Physical Measurement Test, Endurance Test, and Physical Efficiency Test, as well as Departmental Candidates who passed the endurance test, will be called for certificate verification.

TNUSRB SI Interview

  1. The TNUSRB SI interview procedure will be held for open quota candidates who have passed the Physical Measurement Test, Endurance Test, Physical Efficiency Test, and certificate verification, as well as departmental applicants who have passed the endurance test.
  2. The number of candidates invited to the interview procedure exceeds the number of openings.
  3. The interview or viva voce process has been given 3.10 points.
  4. During the interview or viva voce stage, applicants with NCC/NSS/Sports/Games credentials are awarded an extra 5 points.
