Good morning to everyone in attendance. I’ve come to speak on this auspicious occasion of Teachers’ Day. To begin, I’d like to wish all of my esteemed teachers a very Happy Teachers’ Day. Every day, it is because of your hard work and dedication that we as students learn and grow into better people. I’d like to thank all of the teachers for always being a pillar of support for us and correcting our numerous mistakes. Teachers’ Day is celebrated all over India on September 5th to recognise and honour their dedication to teaching.
Teachers’ Day was established by Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, India’s first Vice President, who was born on September 5, 1988. He was also India’s second President and a great scholar. He was also awarded the Bharat Ratna for his dedication to education. When some of his students asked to celebrate his birthday, Dr Radhakrishnan told them that instead of celebrating his birthday on September 5th, they should celebrate Teachers’ Day. This demonstrates how dedicated he was to teaching and how passionate he was about showing respect to all teachers. As a result, every year on the anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birth, we observe Teachers’ Day.

I’d like to extend a very warm welcome to everyone in this room, including my esteemed teachers. Today I’m here to give a speech in honour of Teachers’ Day.
