What is PGT Post in KVS Exam?

KVS Exam has different categories. PGT or Post Graduate Trained Teacher is for those candidates who have completed their Post graduation in concerned subjects and B.ed and aspire to become a teacher in KVS Schools. These candidates need to complete a 2-year B.Ed Degree course to become eligible to apply for the PGT posts.

Is CTET necessary for KVS PGT?

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test Examination (CTET) is a PAN India Examination in which candidates have to qualify for the CTET Examination to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in KVS, NVS, and DSSSB Schools. The candidates must complete their B.Ed course as mandatory eligibility.

CTET is mandatory to qualify to become a teacher in government & private schools. After qualifying for the CTET, candidates can apply to any private school, or government-aided school, and even can apply to an Army school. It is most important to note that candidates become eligible to apply for DSSSB, KVS & NVS exams.

CTET stands for Central Teacher Eligibility Test. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)  laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for classes I to VIII.  The essential qualification for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any school is that he/she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE.
