The parent institution, AIIMS Delhi, is located across seven separate locations. All seven AIIMS institutions, including the Delhi campus, hold their own medical entrance exam for admittance to the MBBS programme. All India Institute of Medical Sciences are prestigious institutes, and many candidates compete for spots in the MBBS programme at AIIMS every year.
For admission to MBBS and BDS programmes at government and private medical colleges/institutes in India, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is held. The exam is administered by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) itself, and candidates have to achieve a high score to be admitted to the best medical schools. All earlier admission tests held by institutions and states have been superseded with one exam.
