World University Rankings 2023

– For the seventh year in a row, the University of Oxford tops the rankings. – Harvard University is still ranked second. – However, the University of Cambridge improves from fifth to third place last year.

Humanitas University in Italy is the highest new entry, ranking 201-250.

With 177 institutions, the United States is the most represented country overall, as well as the most represented in the top 200. (58).

Five new African countries join the ranking for the first time (Zambia, Namibia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Mauritius).

– Harvard is the leader in the teaching pillar, while Oxford is the leader in the research pillar. – The Macau University of Science and Technology stands atop the international pillar.
