UNESCO India Africa Hackathon 2022 is being organized by the Ministry of Education (MoE), the Ministry of External Affairs, and UNESCO. The UNESCO-India-Africa Hackathon will feature participants from as many as 23 countries. The UNESCO India Africa Hackathon, which will be held between November 22 and 25, is an annual 36-hour event that brings together students, educators, teachers, and the research community of India and its African partners to address common challenges in their respective countries and serves as a facilitator for cultural amalgamation.

The UNESCO India Africa Hackathon 2022 is a 36-hour annual event that brings together students, educators, teachers, and the research community of India and its African partners to address common challenges faced by their respective countries and serves as a facilitator for cultural amalgamation.
The UNESCO INDIA – AFRICA Hackathon provides a suitable platform for young innovators to come together and find solutions to the collaborating nations’ social, environmental, and technical problems. It lays the groundwork for potential start-ups with the potential to change the world. It enables participating students to unleash their creativity and experiment with new technologies to solve real-world problems under the supervision of experts, thereby driving business innovation in the modern world.
Collaboration of student teams working together to solve common problems opens the door to cultural assimilation by exposing students and mentors to methods, values, and manners that differ from their own.
The Hackathon is also a symbol of India’s close relationship with its African counterparts, embodying the spirit of collaboration by bringing them together to solve problems for the betterment of humanity.

Check out the UNESCO India Africa Hackathon process for nodal agency, participants and mentors & evaluators.
The Nodal Agency must nominate 10-20 students with knowledge/specialization in coding/software development in UI/UX, AI/ML, AR/VR, IoT, DATA ANALYSIS, and so on.
Mentors should be assigned to each team by the nodal agency to guide the team to the best solution.
The nodal agency will brainstorm each team based on the requirements and provide the best ideas for the hackathon.
Because this is an event involving people from various countries, languages, and cultures, prior interaction should begin in order to foster team spirit and seamless communication.
The nodal agencies will provide the participants shortlisted for the grand finale after pre-screening and filtration. The grand finale will feature a team of six members.
Participants must have knowledge/specialization in UI/UX, AI/ML, AR/VR, IoT, DATA ANALYSIS, and other areas of coding/software development.
The nodal agencies will provide two mentors per participating team to mentor the team in order to achieve the best feasible solution.
The organisers will appoint theme expert evaluators based on the recommendations of nodal agencies.
Team mentors
The team mentor is responsible for guiding the team in their respective domain to the best possible solution to the problem at hand.
Team Evaluator
Evaluators will be in charge of guiding the team during the grand finale morning session and monitoring their progress throughout the day. They will evaluate and score them in the evening session based on the pre-determined parameters.
