TNPSC Group 1 Selection selection will be made in three successive stages:
The Preliminary Examination is meant to serve as a screening test only. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the applicants who are declared qualified for admission to the Main Written Examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit. The number of applicants to be admitted to the Main Written Examination will be 50 times the number of applicants to be recruited having regard to the rule of reservation of appointments
TNPSC Group 1 Syllabus 2022: The candidates appearing for TNPSC Group 1 exam 2022 should be aware of the syllabus and examination pattern of the exam. The Preliminary Examination will be General Studies- Objective Type (200 Questions) with multiple options for 300 marks. The Main Written Examination is for 850 Marks with three papers, each paper for 250 marks and exam duration is 3 Hours and Interview & Records marks are 100 marks.

TNPSC Group 1 Minimum Qualifying Marks:
TNPSC Group 1 Exam questions on General Studies will be set in both Tamil and English. The Scheme of Examination and Syllabus for the Preliminary Examination is available on the Commission’s Website at ‘www.tnpsc.gov.in’ and also in the below of this notification. The syllabus for Main Written Examination will be updated shortly. The Preliminary Examination will be held at the selective centres, across Tamilnadu and applicants should choose any one of the above centres for writing the TNPSC Group 1 examination. Main Written Examination will be held in Chennai only.
