Since 2013, the NTA has conducted NEET-UG every year for candidates seeking admission to medical schools. Those who have reached the age of 17 at the time of admission or who will reach that age on or before December 31 of the year of their admission to the first year of an undergraduate medical programme are eligible to take the NEET examination.
Admission to MBBS/BDS programmes at AiQ, deemed/central universities, and ESIC/AFMS institutions are done through the MCC counselling procedure, which is based on NEET UG results. Applicants who pass the NEET exam are able to apply for these medical programmes. NTA NEET counselling is divided into two categories: national and state.
For admission to undergraduate medical/dental/nursing programmes, aspirants whose names are shortlisted in the NEET 2021 seat allotment list must report to the allocated colleges for the NEET UG Counselling Documents required for admission which are stated below (along with the attested photocopies of documents).

Eligibility Criteria for NEET UG Counselling
- Candidates who have passed the NEET exam are eligible to register for NEET 2021 counselling.
- Candidates from Jammu and Kashmir would not be eligible to participate in All India NEET counselling unless they approve.
- Candidates who have enrolled for NEET 2021 counselling on the MCC website
- All NEET qualified students are eligible to participate in AIQ Deemed University counselling.
