The International Civil Aviation Day Theme 2022 will be “Advancing Innovation for Global Aviation Development.”

International Civil Aviation Day is given a special anniversary theme chosen by the ICAO Council every five years to coincide with that organization’s anniversary—2014/2019/2024/2029, for example. The council representative also selects a single topic for the four years following the anniversary period.

“75 Years of Connecting the World” was the theme of the 2019 International Civil Aviation Day, which commemorated the 75th anniversary of civil aviation. The theme of World Civil Aviation Day 2020 was “Advancing Innovation for Global Aviation Development.” The council has decided to pursue this topic until 2023. International Civil Aviation Day History

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), a specialist organisation within the United Nations, designated December 7 as the day to commemorate the global impact of civil aviation. Flying has forever altered tourism and business, not to mention the cultural connections that have been made possible.

The first International Civil Aviation Day was held in 1994 to commemorate ICAO’s 50th anniversary, and the United Nations General Assembly officially recognised 7 December as International Civil Aviation Day in 1996. They agreed to use the day to emphasise the importance of civil aviation to social and economic development, as well as to recognise the unique role that the International Civil Aviation Organization plays in assisting countries in cooperating and bringing to life a truly global transit network.
