The Mysore Palace is a majestic structure located in Mysore, Karnataka, and is an exceptionally spectacular example of the Indo-Saracenic style of architecture. The old palace of the royal family of Mysore, also known as the Amba Vilas Palace, is still their formal residence. Mysore Palace, one of the country’s largest palaces, was erected in 1912 for the Wodeyar Dynasty’s 24th ruler.
The splendour of the Mysore Palace is a lovely sight to see, with the Chamundi Hills on its eastern side. It goes without saying that, after the Taj Mahal, it is the second most visited historical landmark by both local and foreign tourists. Mysore Palace, which is currently housed within the Old Fort, is known for its light and sound extravaganza as well as lively Dussehra celebrations.
The tomb of Mohammed Adil Shah, the Sultan of Bijapur, may be found in Gol Gumbaz. He was the Adil Shah Dynasty’s seventh ruler. In the year 1656, the architect Yaqut of Dabul built this wonderful structure. Belum Caves, located in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool region, are India’s largest and longest cave system still available to tourists. The caverns, which are India’s second-biggest after the Krem Liat Prah in Meghalaya and are known for their distinctive forms such as stalactite and stalagmite formations, were produced over millions of years with the creation of limestone as a result. The Belum Caves, one of the nationally protected national monuments, contains several passages with exquisite patterns of water flowing on limestone that are sure to leave you stunned by nature’s sheer will and the beauty it can produce.
Charminar is the most significant landmark in Hyderabad, and it is a defining characteristic of the city. Quli Qutub Shah constructed the monument to commemorate Hyderabad’s foundation. It was so named because it has four minarets, as seen by the building. The building was designed to be used as a Madrasa or Mosque. Charminar, together with the Qutub Shahi Tombs and the Golconda Fort, has been inscribed on UNESCO’s ‘tentative list of World Heritage Sites in its current state.
The Borra Caves are located in the Ananthagiri highlands of the Araku Valley in Visakhapatnam district, on India’s east coast. The Borra caverns are a miracle of nature generated when river waters pass through a limestone region, converting calcium carbonate to calcium bicarbonate, which is readily swept out by the rushing water. The caverns’ most noticeable characteristic is the amazing diversity of speleothems, which range in size.
