Doctors Day in India 2022: Doctors are always the first to respond in a pandemic situation to protect the average citizen. Examples of such pandemic situations include COVID-19, Plague, Flu, AIDS, and others where doctors were on the front line for public health and safety. We call them Doctors, true warriors of the country who do not battle at borders but work tirelessly to save lives and improve survival rates while putting their own lives in danger. The first National Doctors’ Day was observed in India on July 1, 1991, to honour Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy for his contributions to the medical field. Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy was a well-known doctor, educator, freedom fighter, social worker, and politician who lived from July 1, 1882, to July 1, 1962. On February 4, 1961, Dr. Roy received the Bharat Ratna, the nation’s highest civilian honor. He gave his life in service to the community, helped many, and motivated countless people. He also served as the family doctor for the Mahatma Gandhi family. The purpose of Doctors’ Day in India is to honour one of the doctors’ greatest representatives while also highlighting the importance of doctors in our lives. India has made incredible strides in the medical field, and July 1 honours all the doctors who worked tirelessly, against all odds, to accomplish this.

Dr. Roy urged women from all classes of society and communities to visit the Seva Sadan, which he and his staff had founded, and seek medical care. His training facility assisted women in learning about nursing and community work, which helped spread the information. He requested that his home be converted into a nursing home after his passing.
